Building massing and design scenarios on real Swiss parcels
bloom is a procedural building design tool for Switzerland. Zoom in, click a parcel in a building zone, and bloom raises a 3D massing study on its real lot geometry. Every change shows live on the map.
Building massing
- Set floors and coverage, or start from a Tower, Mid-rise or Low-rise preset
- Pick a shape: Block, Courtyard, L-plan or Terraced
- Keep the building a set distance from each lot border with North, East, South and West setbacks, and step the top floor back
- Adjust the ground floor and standard floor heights
Floor area against the zone plan
A bar tracks the floor area you have used against the floor area the zone plan allows, so you can compare FAR utilization scenarios side by side. The allowed figures are defaults derived from harmonized zone data.
Roof and facade design
- Nine roof forms, from flat, gable and hip to half-hip, barrel and dome, with pitch, overhang and finish
- Facade finish and color per side: plaster, brick, timber or concrete
- Windows, doors and balconies on the facades
- An estimate of yearly solar yield in kWh and CHF
Fine-tune with AI, then report
Describe a change in plain words, such as "add a hip roof", and the AI applies it to the same parameters the sliders use, as a preview you keep or revert. When the study is ready, create an editable one-page A4 concept report and download it as a PDF.
Frequently asked questions
What could be built on this parcel?
bloom lets you explore that question as design scenarios. Click a parcel and bloom raises a 3D massing study on the real lot. You change floors, coverage, setbacks and shape, and a bar compares the floor area used with the floor area the zone plan allows.
Is a bloom design an approvable project or a permit check?
No. The result is an early-stage design study. Allowed floor area is derived from harmonized zone data, and local height limits, setback rules and design regulations are not checked. Verify the figures with the commune.
Where do the parcel and solar figures come from?
Parcel geometry and zone figures come from official cadastral survey data and harmonized zone plans. The solar estimate uses BFE Sonnendach roof data near the parcel, or a Swiss average where none exists.
